Air Force Schools
There is a lot of opportunities for different kindsAir Force training and education in the United States Air Force.
Almost all career opportunities in military aviation are “entry level”. It means that the USAF provides all training and education for the willing students. Some students are able to choose a particular job, or at the very least a field before actually joining the Air Force, though at the same time the others are assigned an AFSC at BMT (Basic Military Training). After this training, fresh airmen begin attending a technical training school where they learn their particular AFSC. Second Air Force, a part of Air Education and Training Command, is responsible for nearly all technical training.
Air Force Education and Training
Training programs for Air Force have different length; for example, 3E8X1 (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) is one year of training with a preliminary school and a main school consisting of over ten separate divisions, at times takes students close to two years to complete, while 3M0X1 (Services) has 31 days of tech school training.
After Air Force Basic Military Training (AFBMT) the restrictions on what one can or cannot do continues. After the enlistees arrive at their technical school for the specialised training. The Air Force, like the other services, is using a “phase system.” In Air Force technical schools, these restrictions apply only to NPS (non-prior service) recruits. This restrictions include National Guard and Reserve attending technical training under the “Split Option” program (under this program, Guard/Reserve members attend basic training, then return to their Guard/Reserve unit, and attend technical training at a later date).
This training option also applies to NPS service recruits who come there from a different technical school, and are because of that reclassified to attend a new technical school. The phase program doesn’t apply to NCOs/airman who are re-training under the Air Force Re-Training Program.
The Air Force Technical School “Phase Program” is consisting of three steps. As airmen advance in every one of these phases, they are given more priviledges and opportunities. The Phase Program starts on the day the recruit arrives at the technical school and (in the majority of cases) finishes after an airman graduates from technical training and proceeds to go to their first permanent duty assignment.
The U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) is an internationally well-known center for aerospace medical consultation, learning, aircrew health assessments and aerospace medical investigations. USAFSAM’s main goals are to provide readiness and protect community and force health by utilizing a range of expertise and tools which includes health and environmental risk and laboratory analysis, surveillance, process re-engineering, technological innovation and consultation in order to maximize operational health capabilities and to solve problems through partnerships and ingenuity. The school is training approximately six thousands of students per year.
The Air Force School (TAFS) is a school which was established in temporary wartime hutments at Wellingdon Camp, Club Road, New Delhi on 18 July 1955 with the main goal of providing comprehensive modern education to children of personnel of the Indian Air Force. In May of 1967, the school shifted to its present Aravali Campus at Subroto Park, Delhi Cantt.
